Lincoln Senior Center 'Popping' These Days

Good morning Lincoln! You've heard the proverbial "Bad Penny" returning. Well, I'm back. Yours truly, Shirley Metzger has been gone on a much needed R & R. Hopefully I can keep in the groove once again.

The Lincoln Senior Center is really popping these days (no pun intended), thanks to our new director, Sue Parks. She really worked overtime decorating the Senior Center for the Hawaii Luau. We had the most beautiful mural of pink flamingos, parrots, leis and palm trees. And right next to it was the neatest fish pond. And, yes, we had a real "Tiki Bar" with punch, of course. The tables were decorated with sand rose bowls with sea shells and miniature umbrellas. The "Hot Coconut" game was played along with several other fun games. Several wore grass skirts and colorful shirts and skirts. What a great time was enjoyed by all.

On another day, a fun trip was made to the casino in Siloam Springs and shopping at several little shops. Lots of other special things are planned as well as the regular games of Tic, Bingo and other card games. And yes, there's always a fun jigsaw puzzle in the process. So stop in at the center and enjoy these games, visit and enjoy a delicious meal. For a generous donation of $3 for the meal you'll have a chance to meet and greet new and/or old friends. You'll be glad you did. Be sure to pick up a copy of the monthly newsletter, with activities and menu listed. Also, check them out on Facebook. Meanwhile I hope to see you at the Lincoln Senior Center. Keep cool, keep healthy and God bless each and everyone of you.
