Many Share Thanksgiving Blessings

The service at Sugar Hill Church last Sunday was one of true thanksgiving and sharing. Pastor Rick Reed's message came from Psalms 100, in part, "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, Enter into His gate with thanksgiving, be thankful unto Him and praise His name." Then he invited who ever wished, to share what they were especially thankful for, which was shared. Closing hymn was "Count your Blessings." There was much shared, to be considered. We all have so much to be thankful for, which we too often take for granted.

Derek Cheatham has given his dad and granddad something to "shoot for" as he is ahead of them by his limit of two bucks, which be bagged during youth season. The larger one is at least a 10-pointer. So far, the excuses of "too cold" or too windy" have been heard for not having found more. At least, there was plenty of venison for Thanksgiving dinner.

It seems so sudden the days are now so much shorter. I notice the school bus passes before good daylight. Many years ago, we walked to school, but I don't remember ever having to start in the dark.

But it is, after all, almost December and December is National holiday month, stress-free family, safe toys and gifts, choose a summer camp, theft prevention, tie, Spiritual literacy, drunk and drugged driving prevention, Bingo Birthday and calendar awareness month. Also, remember Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, first day of winter, and shortest day, Dec. 21, and of course, Christmas, Christ's birthday.

Happy birthday to Linc Bradley, Glenn Braly, James Myers, Jesse King, Oleta Danforth, Dana Harrell, Henson Tittle, Nancy Martsching, Sara Bradley, Joyce Miller.

Happy anniversary to Edwin and Janet Roy, Earl and Betty Adams, Leon and Jeannie Tucker.

Happy years, all!
