Farmington Center Sets Calendar

Farmington Senior Activity and Wellness Center has many activities planned for January. The center invites senior adults to stop by for a hot meal, to listen to music, dance or play games.

The center is located at 340 W. Main St., phone 267-5709. Lunch is served 11:30 a.m., Monday-Friday, with a suggested donation of $3.

On Mondays, seniors have games and activities beginning at 8:30 a.m. with a time of walking. At 10:30 a.m., activities to help the brain are held. Seniors can play Dominoes beginning at noon and compete in Wii bowling at 1 p.m.

On Tuesdays, the center has live music at 9:30 a.m. and tables are set up to play the card game, Pitch, at noon.

Wednesday activities include beanbag baseball, a gospel sing at 10:30 a.m., line dancing and other exercises.

Bingo is held at 9 a.m. on Thursdays and Pitch games are played, starting at noon.

Fridays stay busy, as well, beginning with walking at 8:30 a.m., a Bible study at 10 a.m. and exercise classes throughout the morning and after lunch.

For the month of January, the center will close on Jan. 16 for the Martin Luther King Jr., holiday.

On Jan. 19, a representative with Area Agency on Aging will have a question and answer session on Medicaid and Medicare at 11 a.m.
