PRAIRIE GROVE -- Two local women are bringing their talents and skills from Oklahoma and Fayetteville to provide services in Prairie Grove.

Candace Kenyon and Brie Fanning recently opened Diamond in the Rough Salon at 115 N. Pittman St. The shop offers hair and nail services, tanning and a boutique.

Both live in Prairie Grove, but Kenyon was working in Oklahoma and Fanning was working in Fayetteville. The two had talked about going in together on a business and when the building on Pittman became available, it was the "perfect timing," said Kenyon.

Fanning has seven years of experience and Kenyon brings eight years of experience to Diamond in the Rough.

"We're blessed to be a part of the community and have our children grow up here," Fanning said.

The new shop is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

They take appointments and also accept walk-ins.

The boutique in the building is called Embellish and is owned by vendor Cara Gulledge. It offers stylish and vintage clothing, jewelry, shoes and gift items.
